Inground Swimming Pools

Inground Pools

Inground pools are the most popular of all swimming pools. The two most common types of in ground pools are concrete and fiberglass pools.

Inground Concrete pools

An inground concrete pool is considered the strongest and most durable type of swimming pool. In fact, there are many concrete pools still in use today that are well over 60 years old. Unlike any other type of inground pools, existing concrete pools can be renovated and updated to bring a tired old pool back to a brilliant new looking pool.

In ground concrete pools are also referred to as shotcrete pools, as concrete is shot from a nozzle with a pressure airline attached, blowing the mix onto steel reinforced walls. Once the concrete cures the pool is finished with a textured aggregate surface or tiled. Prior to the invention of shotcrete, pools were formed with ply and concrete poured and vibrated. This technique is still used today for pools built in remote areas with limited access for machinery.

Inground Concrete Pool Design

In ground concrete pools give you the ability to customize the shape and size of the pool, this is one of their greatest virtues.  In ground concrete pools are perfect for those wanting a pool with customized shapes, ledges, beach areas and vanishing edges, a deep pool or an extra large pool, which are all just a sketch away from reality. In ground concrete swimming pools can be integrated in design as a work of art in the landscape.
